    Description

Aging Dust is a natural compound used for polishing wax. It creates an extra beautiful hand and soft sheen. Used primarily for highly carved or decorative areas such as hardware (it is a wonderful metal polisher as well), the Aging Dust settles into the grooves giving the appearance of age over time. This is often found in fine antiques and high end furniture pieces.
An awesome alternative to colored waxes or glazes for creating age and patina. Leaves a cool, charcoal-y grey age compared to the warm golden brown of most dark waxes. Also very different from black waxes--a much softer, higher end, elegant look. Take your finish up a few notches!
Directions for use: Apply a slightly heavier than normal coat of clear wax using a wax brush and when the wax is no longer wet, but still tacky, sprinkle a generous amount of Aging Dust across the surface and allow to dry for 30 minutes. Lightly brush off the excess Aging Dust and polish the piece with our Wax Polishing or Wax Buffing Brush. This will polish the piece leaving some Aging Dust behind in the crevices. Gorgeous! This technique works equally well over chalk-style paints, latex, or any other self-sealing paint brands.
